The TAHLYA vocational training program in desalination aims to train 60 young Omani nationals per annum in Reverse Osmosis Desalination. The program is sponsored by BP with training taking place at MEDRC Water Research facilities in Al Hail, Muscat.
By 2020 Oman will:
- Have 10 large scale desalination plants
- Need 160 desalination supervisors
- Need 452 desalination operators
- Produce 1.7 mm3/day of desalinated water
The TAHLYA Training Programme will take place in Muscat. It will include on-site training at the MEDRC Training Plant and the five biggest Desalination Plants in Oman.
Successful participants will benefit from the significant support TAHLYA offers in gaining employment. Starting in February 2017, the three courses will conclude in November 2017.
